Born in Warsaw, N.Y., Mr. Stevens graduated from Jacksonville University in 1973 with a BA in Accounting.  He obtained his Florida CPA Certificate in 1974 and worked as an auditor for the City of Jacksonville before going to law school.  He received his JD from Nova University Law Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1982, and became a member of the Florida Bar in 1982.  He graduated from the University of Florida in 1983 with a Masters of Law in Taxation (LLM).  On returning to Jacksonville in 1983, he worked briefly at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Florida in their Legal Affairs Department before becoming an Associate Attorney at the Law Office of Kenneth G. Anderson in 1985.  In 1997 he became a member of the firm Anderson & Stevens, P.A. and was a member through 2011.  In 2012 he opened his own law firm.  James Stevens is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell.  This rating is Martindale Hubbell’s highest rating.
