Gary Montgomery | Boise Personal Injury Lawyer

Gary Montgomery is one of Idaho’s senior attorneys.  He began his career as Assistant Attorney General for Idaho, and then as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Idaho.  He later became a partner in the Boise law firm of Marcus, Merrick & Montgomery, where he was lead counsel in representing a client with a misdiagnosed brain tumor and obtained a favorable verdict of approximately $1 million. Since then, he has tried over 100 cases, and has a remarkable win/loss record, prevailing over 90% of the time.  He has represented clients in cases resulting in millions in settlements and verdicts.

Gary is a leader and an effective advocate for his clients.  Beginning in high school, he won 2nd place in the Idaho State Debate Tournament. In law school, he won first place in the annual Moot Court Competition.  He has served as Majority Leader in the Idaho Legislature.  He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He has had an “AV Preeminent” rating (the highest rating possible) from Martindale-Hubble for the past 25 years. This rating comes from private interviews with fellow lawyers and judges in Idaho.

Most importantly, as a self-proclaimed “hometown boy,” Gary is warm and friendly.  The legalese and intimidating environment of some law firms is absent.  His personality will help you feel at ease.   But when it comes to representing his clients, he is experienced and aggressive. And in personal injury law, experience really counts!

Gary is married to Marilyn, whom he affectionately calls “Spunky,” and they are the parents of 4 sons and a growing number of grandchildren.  He is active in church and his community.  He finds genuine satisfaction in helping people who have been injured receive fair and full compensation for their injuries and damages.
